MIND

To have a healthy mind, one must keep the brain exercised regularly, and free from excessive stress and worry.

BODY

Your body is inherited from your parents. A healthy body is free of disease and illness, and it is not riddled with pain.

SPIRIT

Your spirit is given by God at conception and being spiritual is being balanced with the understanding that you are part of something more superior than yourself.

ABOUT US

Embrace Your Healing Behavioral Health in Encino, CA. is a private practice, owned and operated by Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Belinda De Shay. At Embrace Your Healing, our primary client base is adults between the ages of 18 to 65. Our goal is to help individuals experience a better quality of life. As we believe in healing, mind, body, and spirit we dedicate our efforts to discovering innovative ways to solve your mental, medical, and behavioral health needs.

We evaluate and treat a comprehensive range of psychiatric illnesses. Additionally, we partner with other mental health professionals to ensure each patient achieves an overall state of wellness in their daily lives.

PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

The role of a psychiatric nurse practitioner is multi-faceted. Our foremost goal is to provide a comprehensive intake assessment, giving us a map of our patient’s specific needs. This assessment includes a thorough review of the psychiatric and medical history, inclusive of family history. This is an important step as we use the findings to direct a path toward a diagnosis. We offer treatment for mental illnesses and can help manage acute and chronic conditions based on our individual patient’s presentation. Our goal at Embrace Your Healing is to work toward our patient’s full mental wellness rather than focus on an individual’s mental illness.

As a Board Certified Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I can:

   – Conduct a comprehensive medical and mental health evaluation

   – Diagnose and treat specific mental health disorders

   – Prescribe and manage medications

   – Work collaboratively with other mental health and medical professionals

   – Make referrals as needed

TELEPSYCHIATRY

Telepsychiatry or telemedicine is a specifically defined form of video conferencing that can provide psychiatric and medical services to patients living in remote locations and underserved communities. Patients can connect with their primary care providers, therapists, or any other healthcare professional via the use of television cameras, microphones, and cell phones.

Given our current COVID-driven states of affairs, not to mention extreme convenience, telepsychiatry is the ultimate option for continued care for our psychiatric patients. Using this tool patients can continue to receive care via cell phone in the comfort of their own homes keeping safety as a priority.
