about your nurse

Belinda D. De Shay, BSN, BS, MS, MSN, PMHNP-BC

I am the founder and creator of Embrace Your Healing Behavioral Health located in Encino, CA. This practice was established based on the need for improved access to behavioral health services throughout California whether it be through telepsychiatry or brick and mortar.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in the State of California. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing in 2011 specializing in Adult Psychiatric Care. I also hold degrees in Psychology with an emphasis on Advanced Studies of Human Behavior and Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology.

I have spent most of my nursing career working in various capacities involving Mental Health in Southern California. I have also worked as a Critical Care Nurse at the LA County/USC Medical Center in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit for several years which gave me new insight into head injuries and the impact they have on human behavior.  I have also experienced working with children as a School Nurse in the Pasadena and Los Angeles Unified School Districts in addition to roles in the Correctional System as a Mental Health Counselor and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Most recently, I have been providing comprehensive psychiatric diagnosis and medication management via telehealth to underserved communities all over California.
